Cross Country:

The Lancers participated in the Manitou Invitational this past Thursday. The boys team finished second overall team standings, finishing just seven points behind Discovery Canon. Maxx Seminario, Jeff Zelkin, and Robert Brown were Liberty’s top-3 finishers, placing 6th, 7th, and 8th.  On the girls side, Alisson Mann continued her dominance with another dominant first place finish, crossing the finish line a minute and a half ahead of second. Allison lead the girls team to a first place finish with Liberty’s Jennifer Van Bueren and Katie Boland placing 7th and 8th to round out Liberty’s top three finishers. The cross country team will be participating in the Rock Canon Invite this Saturday at 8:30 A.M.

Football:

The football team looks to get back to .500 this Saturday as they take on the 1-1 Gators of Stanley Lake at 12:00. Liberty is coming off a 47-20 loss against Palmer Ridge in last weeks homecoming game. Although the lancers loss they did outscore Palmer Ridge 20-17 in the second half of the game. Stanley lake improved to 1-1 last week shutting out Adams City 34-0. Liberty did get a boost to their roster last week as they added starting running back Cole Pelt and starting corner back Jake Felton, as they both did not play the first two games.

Field Hockey:

Reagan Onken recorded 15 saves in last weeks game against Grandview, but it was not enough as the lady lancers fell 1-0 allowing a goal in the last 10 minutes moving their record to 1-3. The lancers look to rebound with games against Mountain Vista and Cherry Creek. On Monday the Lancers travel to Mountain Vista to play the Golden Eagles who moved to 3-1 on the season with a win against St. Mary’s in their last game. Friday Cherry Creek travels to D-20 Stadium as Liberty hosts Bruins who lost 3-0 to the Colorado Academy, who gave them their first lost of the year. That game will start at 4:00 P.M.

Men’s Soccer:

The men’s soccer team got their first win of the year in last weeks tournament, but also had two 1-0 losses also. Liberty has three games this week as they play Denver East, Columbine and Gateway. On Tuesday the Lancers travel up to Denver to take on the undefeated Angels of Denver East at 6:00 P.M. Liberty then hosts columbine who is winless this year dropping their last game 2-1 to Smokey hill, the game will be on Thursday at 5. The lancers continue their home stand Saturday at 12 against 3-1 Gateway who won 5-0 in their previous game against Dakota Ridge. Dawson Calloway, team leader in goals with 3, and Brandon Shaugnessey, team leader in assists with 3,  look to get the Lancers into the win coulomb once again.

Softball:

With a home game Tuesday at 4 against Palmer, Liberty has a chance to move to 3-1 in the Metro League and 4-5 overall. The Palmer terrors fell to Palmer Ridge 9-7 moving their overall record to 3-7. Liberty also lost their last game 19-12 to Bear Creek and now have lost 3 games in a row. The lady Lancers also have another game this week, Thursday at Vista Ridge at 4:00. The 3-6-1 wolves fell to Valor Christian 10-2in their previous game.  Mahealani Haegele, the team leader in batting average(.692), RBI’s(9) and Doubles(3), looks to lead Liberty this week and get the Lancers back to .500.

Volleyball:

The volleyball team looks to move to 4-2  with a an neutral site tournament win against Colorado Springs Christian on Saturday at 11:45.  Coming off a 3-0 loss against Legend,  Liberty will be playing the Lions who are on a three game win streak to improve their record to 3-2. Kennedy Garnhart looks to improve on her league leading 196 assists and her third most 14 serving aces. Also, Gabby Monteleone will also look to continue leading the league with digs, she is currently at 116, which is 17 more then second.
