Football:

The football team looks to carry their momentum from their win against Air Academy, into conference play. Led by their stout defense of play and Trevor Halverson’s two touchdowns, the lancers beat the Kadets 14-7, moving their record to 2-3. Liberty has a bye week this week to prepare for conference play starting. Thursday, October 7th the Lancers will open conference play against Ponderosa at District 20 Stadium.

Field Hockey:

The Lady Lancers only have one game this week, as they will be heading to Arapahoe to take on the Warriors. Liberty is coming off of a 3-0 loss to first-place Colorado Academy, as the Lancers gave the Mustangs all they could handle but, just came up short. The Warriors are also coming off of a 7-0 loss to Cheyenne Mountain, moving Arapahoe’s record to 0-7 on the season.  This game provides a chance for the Lancers to get their second win on the season and to continue building their momentum.

Men’s Soccer:

The men’s soccer team also opens up their league play this Thursday as they host Coronado. The Lancers had a tough time in non-conference play as they were only able to go 1-8.  Coronado will also be playing their first conference game and look to build off of their recent success, as they have won their last two games to move their record to 4-4. With only one team with a winning record in conference, the conference is still up for grabs with no one dominant team emerging. So an first game conference win will go big towards salvaging the Lancers season.

Softball:

Liberty is coming off two big time wins this past week, defeating both Rampart and Pine Creek in a blow out fashion! With a 9-3 win against Pine Creek and a 18-2 win against Rampart, the Lancers showed they are a force to be reckoned with. Also, the two wins moved the Lancers league record to 5-1, bringing them just a half game behind first place Pine Creek. The Lancers will have another busy week as the play three games, including the last game of the season against Pine Creek today. They also will be going on the road to take on Fountain-Fort Carson on Tuesday and Coronado on Thursday.  Another big week could jump the Lancers into first place in the league as well as into the state playoffs.
