The football team is coming off a bye week and will be opening up league plays this week.  The Lancers will be hosting Ponderosa this Saturday at 7. Palmer is coming off of a 42-0 thumping of Pueblo Centennial moving their record to 4-1. Also, Ponderosa is ranked 11th in all Colorado 4A schools, meanwhile Liberty ranks 32nd . If Liberty wants to pull off the upset they need to get Cole Pelt who is averaging 156 rushing yards a going early against a stout Ponderosa defense. Saturdays game should provide a good test to see how good this years football team is.

Field Hockey:

The Lancers have a busy week ahead of them as they play three games this week, including two away games. The lady Lancers went on the road last week in their lone game, and beat Arapahoe 2-1, moving their record to 2-7 on the year. They will be taking on Cheyenne Mountain(2-8), Regis Jesuit(3-5-1), and Palmer Ridge(7-1-1). Without a doubt, the Palmer Ridge game next Monday will be a challenge for the Lancers, but games against Cheyenne Mountain and Regis Jesuit provide chances for the Lancers to get win 3 and 4 on the year.

Men’s Soccer:

The men’s soccer team opened up conference play last week with a 4-0 win against Coronado. They will be hosting Doherty on Tuesday who also won their league opener 2-0 against Fountain Fort Carson. Then Liberty will be taking on rival Rampart on Friday who moved their league record to 1-1 after a 5-0 win against Palmer. Although Liberty has had a below expectation year, two wins this week in league play, which are possible to achieve, will move Liberty to the top of the standings in League play. If there is anyway of salvaging their season, achieving a winning record in league play may be the way.

Can you say streak? The softball team certainly can, as they are on a 6 game winning streak with wins against the top 4 teams in the league, 4 rivalry wins, and outscoring their opponents by a total of  65-25!After being 5-6, the Lancers are now 11-6 and on top of their conference by two games over rival Pine Creek. Liberty closes out there conference schedule this week with a game on Tuesday against Doherty and an away game Thursday at Palmer. Liberty could finish their season on a 8 game winning streak which should assure them a spot in the state playoffs.

The volleyball moved their record to 6-6 after a 3-0 win against Pueblo South last week. They open up league play this week with games against Coronado on Tuesday , Doherty on Thursday , and Pueblo West on Friday.  With being on the border of state playoffs, league play will be crucial for the Lancers to clinch a spot in this years playoffs.
