Track Season has Begun!
April 6, 2017
This past weekend, your Liberty Track team traveled to Pueblo to compete in the Centennial Invite. The stadium named Dutch Clark, aka “The Dutch Oven,” got very hot on Saturday. The temperatures reached 85 degrees and there was very little shade to hide. Many athletes were in the locker rooms where it was very cool and had water. For Liberty, many athletes placed or won their events, even with the extreme heat. The sprinters took the dub in the boys and girls 4×200 and with individual wins by Emerson Collins in the 200 and Alex Thomas in the 400. For the distance events, Jeff Zelkin took the dub in the 1600, Matt Solomon took 6th in the 3200, and Allison Mann took the win and the meet record in the 3200. For the team standings, the boys took fourth place and the girls won first. Overall, a great day for the Lancer track team. These upcoming weekends, the Lancers will be at the Palmer invite at Gary Berry and the week after spring break, the Legend Track Clash in Parker. Come out and support your Lancer track team as much as possible!
