Chapter 12

May 12, 2017

Elijah felt a rush of blood reenter his body as he gained back control.

“Uh- just-you know-stretching.” He said as he began to do crunches.

She cocked an eyebrow “Uh huh, and you stretch by slapping yourself?”

“Uh, well-” but June began to laugh. She was laughing so hard she was practically in tears. Elijah slowly realized the ridiculousness of the situation and laughed along with her. After a while the two recollected themselves and were just staring at each other.

“You know you’re in a towel right?” Elijah asked

“Oh yeah,” June said walking over to the dresser checking each drawer, “I came out here to see if there were any pajamas.”

“You couldn’t have put back on your other clothes before coming out?”

“No,” she said flatly. She stood up and turned back around to face him, “What do you have against towels anyways.”

“I don’t know, just don’t really want you parading around out here in a towel.”

“Well I can take it off if you want, is that what you want?” She said reaching for the corner of the towel.

“No! No, you’re fine, the towel is fine.”

June laughed carrying her clothes back into the bathroom, “That’s what I thought.”

The bathroom door closed and Elijah made his way back to his feet and wandered back towards the recliner.

What’re you stupid?!” Raithanus shouted almost shattering his skull.

“What?”

“She offers to undress for you and you tell her no!”

Raithanus she was joking, besides, I already told you, I don’t like her like that.”

“Oh for the love of me. You know what, I’m just not going to interfere in your love life anymore, you’re hopeless.”

“Thank you.” The bathroom door reopened and June stepped out into the room, fully clothed, with her wet, brown hair leaving water stains on her shirt. She walked back over to the bed and laid down pulling out her phone. She sighed and put it back in her pocket.

“What no service?”

“Nah, it’s that the only person I really text is you aaaaaaaand you’re right here, so it really has no purpose.”

Elijah laughed “Same goes for me, except now I’m constantly connected to Raithanus the Asshole, so I guess I sort of one up you.”

“Haha, I suppose so. What’s it like talking to someone through your mind?”

“Oh, uh, I don’t know really, quiet I guess, but not really all that great.”

“Of course it’s great, you’re talking to me.”

“Shush I’m in the middle of a conversation.”

“Eli?” Elijah returned back to reality.

“Yeah?”

“Did you hear what I said?”

“Uh, no I was rudely interrupted.”

“Oh, well never mind it wasn’t really that important.”

“No go ahead I’m sorry.”

“I said that it would be pretty cool if I could talk to him too.”

“Nah, you don’t want to talk to him,” Elijah said leaning back further in the recliner, “Besides, the only way of communicating with the gods inside  is via a connection.”

“Well…”

“What do you mean ‘well’?

“Well, she can talk to me.”
