Fall, in Colorado especially, is known for the amazing smells and spectacular sights. In Colorado, the mountains are the primary place to go for flawless photos. Not a lot of people known the best places to go. There is so much more in Colorado than Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.

If you google Colorado, you will most likely see a picture of a beautiful mountain glowing in the morning sun with crystal clear water below (right). These beautiful mountain do exist- the Maroon Bells. These breathtaking mountains are located in Glenwood Springs and, like most places in Colorado, there is so much you can do here. You could go on a hike up to a clear blue lake or just hang out at the bottom and take in the beauty of the bells.

Mesa Verde National Park, also known as the Cliff Dwellings, are a great place for those who love Native American history. The Cliff Dwellings may not be as breathtaking at first glance, but as you look closer it is truly a work of art. Learning that Native Americans built them to protect themselves from the weather are lived in them during the winter makes them that much more amazing.

“Hanging Lake is truly the most perfect place in the world. It’s totally worth the hike” Jake Toller describes. For those who don’t know, Hanging Lake is in Glenwood Springs. It is 1 ½ mile hike with a 1,000 feet elevation change from the bottom of the mountain to the lake. You can see beautiful trees and wildlife. The lake is flawless with crystal blue waters and breathtaking waterfalls that make you feel like you are in the rainforest.

Crested Butte, Colorado is a ski town with a gorgeous view of the Rocky Mountains. There is a little bit for everyone there-biking, horse backing riding, music, events and more. There are beautiful aspyn trees that are gorgeous all year ‘round, especially in the fall when all the leaves turn a golden yellow.

If you aren’t a mountain person, there are lots of places in the cities to capture the beauty of fall- Capitol Hill in Denver for example. Capitol Hill has beautiful trees all around with the capitol building sitting on top.

Outdoor concerts are a lot of fun, especially when you have the views of the mountains. Red Rocks amphitheater is one of the most beautiful outdoor venues in Colorado. Sure during the fall and winter, it can get a little cold but it’s truly a breathtaking sight to see. There are amazing aspen trees and pine trees all around it.

Colorado is a beautiful state anytime of the year to take photos, but the fall is an especially gorgeous time of year.
