In the realm of high school sports, higher leagues and lower leagues there is one common theme: pregame rituals. This could include team huddles with chants and cheers, listening to a specific song or playlist or stretching or even wearing a lucky item.

Even doing really simple things like this before a small or big game can make that much of a difference. Having a pregame ritual can be more than just superstition and gets players focused for the game so they can also be on their best level of play for every game.
Pregame rituals can be the most important part of a players pregame as it helps them get to that best level of play. Without pregame rituals the pregame would feel incomplete and will knock you off your game. Former athlete Jack Arel said, “I always had a playlist I would listen to that would get me focused and prepared for the game.”
Not only do they help build players individually, but pregame rituals can also build the whole team to play their best. Whether this includes a team huddle or a chant, having a team ritual is very essential to the whole team’s game.
This gets the players pumped for the game and gives everyone a chance to really bond with each other building chemistry and getting better as a whole team and leads to a really positive outcome for the whole team to play their hearts out together.
Pregame rituals are the most important aspect of the game as it gets players focused and ready for the game and builds the entire team to get closer and build more chemistry.
