School is stressful the full length of your stay, however, work really tends to pile up when the semester is ending, grades are deteriorating and exams are challenging. The weeks prior to finals include staying caught up on all assignments, and successfully mastering all curriculum to be completely prepared for the test.
In order to catch up before finals; students can’t let their guard down. With eight classes, material needs to be managed, along with personal responsibilities on the side. So how are students managing their workloads before finals week?

With the work being hard for most students it’s quite easy to fall behind, and be discouraged from getting it done, according to junior Jaxton Peralta, he stated his methods on how he gets work done before exams, and his different learning techniques and styles. He stated, “Although I do tend to procrastinate, I’m doing decent, and I will pass and get the credits I need… However, I do have a lot of D’s.”
As Peralta stated, it’s challenging getting tasks done in a timely and thorough manner. That’s why it’s important to seek improvement. Peralta stated, “I’m struggling with English, I work past it by just doing the most important and necessary assignments.”
Furthermore, while many students may struggle, for some it comes naturally. Junior Tanner Ryan said how he’s getting his work done, especially for someone who is more academically inclined, he expressed his method of organization by saying, “I use lists to keep me on track.”
Organization can play a large role in keeping track of assignments and upcoming exams and events. He further stated how the use of organization helps him pass; “I’m overall doing well academically… and although I struggle with math, the key is to study and don’t give up when it gets challenging.”
Classes are going to get discouraging, especially when missing assignments pile up, deadlines pass, and there’s a lack of leniency on students for making up assignments. But it’s important to motivate yourself and focus on your strengths.
As Peralta and Ryan said, it’s important to acknowledge that everyone handles school curriculum differently, that’s why applauding yourself for your strengths is important for self-esteem, and ability to do work thoroughly.
The best way to prepare for finals, and complete all assignments before their deadlines, is to make sure you’re doing everything timely, while constantly checking Infinite Campus to ensure your grades are what you want them to be.
