As December sets in, so do bad driving conditions. As the snowy cold season starts to set in and roads start to freeze over it becomes a bad environment for new drivers. Many of the students at Liberty don’t have a whole lot of experience with driving.
The newly fallen snow can make the simple things really difficult. With how much snow there has been parking especially has been very difficult as snow covered all of the lines and makes parking impossible.
Ryan Hoskins has seen it all firsthand. The snow makes it challenging for him to drive in and makes it hard to drive around with other people on the road. Hoskins stated, “It makes it hard to drive out there because at stop signs you have to stop before and be extra careful and turning at intersections can be scary because there is always a chance you could slide out.”
The ice and snow have already made it very difficult for people on the roads. It makes students have to prepare more than they usually would and have to spend more time out there. It has been hard for the whole school to adjust to bad road conditions. Hoskins explains, “With everybody all trying to get in at once it makes it sketchy for everybody to pile in all at once and with the road being bad it could cause accidents.”
Since the roads are so icy people are going to slide a lot and with how many people are going to the school all at once it makes it very scary for everybody to be that close to each other in bad conditions.
Grey Swanson also knows just how dangerous it can be with all the new drivers. Swanson states,” I think it makes it very dangerous when roads are icy with other student drivers. And with the number of new drivers, it makes people more prone to crash.”
With the thought of all the new drivers going to liberty is scary to think about. As they don’t have the experience in dealing with road conditions like this and can be very dangerous for everyone around when it gets icy.
Not only is it very dangerous just to be driving, it’s also dangerous when trying to park. As the snow settles down the parking lines start to disappear. And if people can’t see the lines they don’t know where to park and get out of the lines. Swanson states “Parking recently has become a huge challenge. I have to rely on other vehicles to try and fit into the lines.”
Having to rely on other vehicles to try and find a spot is dangerous to do. As it only takes one mistake for someone to get out of the lines and that leads to more people falling out of the lines
It makes the parking lot unorganized with people parked everywhere and not being organized makes it difficult to get out of the lot and out of the school. New drivers need to be more aware and need to know the precautions and be the safest drivers they can be and make sure to be extra cautious in the snow.
