Liberty High School’s spring musical this year is “Legally Blonde”, a stage musical based on the hit 2001 movie about the notorious blonde, pink lawyer Elle Woods, portrayed by senior Bayli Fuchs.

This is Fuch’s first leading role, although she’s been in six productions here at Liberty, not including Scarborough Fair and dance concerts. Fuchs is currently enrolled in four performing arts classes- Theatre 5, Dance 5, Dance Leadership, and Jazz Choir.
“The community is just so good, like I have made so many friends that I never would’ve expected to be friends with,” Fuchs said, “It’s so amazing and I love everybody and I love getting to work with everybody here.”
“Legally Blonde”, the musical is about Elle Woods, a California born blonde sorority girl. The musical opens with her fellow Delta Nu sorority sisters speculating on her upcoming engagement to her boyfriend Warner, portrayed by senior Aiden Evitts. Instead, Warner dumps Elle for someone more “serious.” Elle ends up following him to Harvard Law, where she’s put on the case for a Delta Nu Alumni Brooke Windham, and ultimately ends up finding herself instead of the rekindling romance she hoped to achieve.
While at Harvard, Elle meets Emmett, played by senior Alex Rogers, a lawyer who decides to help Elle do better at school, as well as Paullette, portrayed by junior Sophia Craig, a hairdresser at the nearby salon. Warner’s “serious” new girlfriend Vivian Kensington, played by Ella Illsley, as well as a cast full of other liberty students.

“Elle is just so iconic,” said Fuchs. “She’s such an iconic person and everything that she stands for is so important, especially in today’s day and age like standing up for being who you are unapologetically and being loud about who you are and loud about your passions is something I feel like people judge so hardly … I love that Elle is so excited about everything that she does.”
The show will include many songs, 18 in total, including “Take It Like a Man” and “Legally Blonde,” Fuchs’ favorite songs in the show.
“I just love belting out [“Legally Blonde”] and they’re just so beautiful and I’m so excited to work with Alex on those songs. I think it’s going to be so fun,” she said.
When asked if she had any reservations about the show, she laughed. “The blonde wig. I was blonde my sophomore year in Curtains. They made me blonde for Jessica Cranshaw, and I do not look good as a blonde.”
Congratulations to Bayli Fuchs on her role as Elle Woods and make sure you go see Liberty’s production of “Legally Blonde” on Thursday, April 16- Saturday, April 18 of 2026.
